Hall of Fame

Each year the Music Educators Association selects deserving members to the Music Educators Hall of Fame.

The first Music Educator of the Year was inducted in 1964. The Hall of Fame and several new awards were created in 1989 as part of AMEA's 50th anniversary celebration.

AMEA Music Educator of the Year

The highest honor bestowed by AMEA, the Music Educator of the Year personifies the goals and visions of AMEA and exemplifies excellence in teaching, leadership, and advocacy for music and arts education in Arizona.

AMEA Career Award

The AMEA Career Award recognizes continuing dedication to music education. If you have taught in the schools of Arizona for 25 years or longer, you are eligible for this recognition.

George C. Wilson Leadership/Service Award

The George C. Wilson Leadership/Service Award is named for the 1940-1946 AMEA President and is presented to a member who has rendered an exceptional amount of service with demonstrated strong leadership in the Association.

O.M. Harstell Excellence in Teaching Music Award

The O.M. Hartsell Excellence in Teaching Music Award is named for the 1963-1965 AMEA President. This award is given to those members who have demonstrated exceptional ability as a teacher of music.

The Excellence in Music Administration Award is given in recognition of demonstrated leadership concerning music instruction within schools.
