Nomination Registration Deadline:  November 27, 2017

 

Festival

 

Student Grade Level: Nominated students are to be enrolled in the sixth (6th) or seventh (7th) grade.

 

Student Nomination:

a. Each teacher may nominate a maximum of five (5) students per voicing, with a maximum of ten (10).

b. The students nominated are to be among the best musicians in the choral group at their school.

c. Up to five (5) alternates may be submitted from each school.  Alternates will be used ONLY to fill spots left unfilled by the original nomination list.

 

Nomination Registration Fee:  None

 

Late Nomination Entries.

LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS APPROVED BY THE AMEA VP HS ACTIVITIES.

It is the responsibility of the teacher wishing to submit late entries to email Max Rogers, AMEA VP ES/JH Activities: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  with a request to submit late registrations including the reason for the request.  If approval is granted for late registration, the AMEA Executive Director and Festival Chair will be notified and the registration will be processed.

 

Qualification For Nomination:  Treble Choir

a. Musical.  The student:

1) Is able to sing a major scale, in tune, a cappella.

2) Is able to sing with an open, natural, and supported tone.

3) Is able to sing their appropriate voicing independently.

4) Is able to demonstrate proper enunciation.

5) Is able to sing with appropriate phrasing and dynamics.

b. Personal. The student:

1) Demonstrates a desire to achieve.

2) Has a sense of self discipline.

3) Has a sense of focus.

4) Has a personal commitment to be prepared for rehearsals and performance.

5) Has a desire to perform with excellence.
